'Zactly. It's what we call "proof by anecdote." The kind of thing that gets you flunked in math class.

In a world populated by billions of weirdos, anything you can imagine is happening somewhere. Individual people and incidents don't mean anything unless they're part of a larger trend.

I think Taylor Swift mania makes more sense than religion, but that's even more popular and has been around longer. Maybe they're both about belonging to a community.
