Certain skills are difficult for humans. For instance, as you indicated, it's not advisable to walk into someone's workplace and tell them how to do their job.

As a person of science, it's somewhere between disheartening, frustrating, and infuriating when people who don't know jack try to lecture me.

So unless you know about being female (or Black, gay, etc.), trying to tell them how to think is contraindicated.

One modification, though: being a minority (or otherwise of lesser power) forces you to understand the majority better than the reverse since you are surrounded by it constantly. Women's ability to survive and thrive in society requires them to make a careful study of men. The reverse is not true.
