C’mon. If you aren’t going to do the reading, you shouldn’t participate in the discussion.
Search “republicans nationwide abortion ban” and “republicans contraception ban.” Read about Griswold v. Connecticut and what Clarence Thomas said about it.
People don’t realize it, but at age 60, I predate a nationwide guarantee of contraceptive access. There has been a movement on the right to repeal that since.
“Conservatives, by and large, are more concerned about the economy and corruption in government, fraud and waste…”
Wait, were you in a coma during the campaign? I’ve been asking people to tell me one thing the GOP ran on that was usefully honest — or even existed at all, because “open borders,” the immigrant crime wave, burly trans kids beating up girls in sports, and most of the rest had no basis in reality.
Also, have you been around for the last 45 years? The economy does better, particularly in terms of lower deficits, with a Democrat in the White House. I encourage you to look it up.
“…and inflation”
Which Biden couldn’t have stopped because it was worldwide, though the US did come out of it relatively quickly. Yes, the inflation rate is back down. But Republicans made it sound like that meant prices would come down, which violates the basic rules of capitalism. They won’t. But the GOP will loudly trumpet that everything is fabulous, and the low-information voters will believe them.
Normally, I’d say a president can’t cause inflation, but that won’t be true if Lord Donald of Orange keeps his campaign promises. Between tariffs and deportation, the economy may well crash. It could get ugly.
There was one thing you included I did agree with: “Conservatives, by and large, are more concerned about…the continuation of divisive policies.” That’s probably not what you meant, but again, the GOP has run on almost nothing but division for the last quarter century.
So please, I’m always looking for good comments, but there’s a minimum baseline of knowledge I’d like to see first. None of the above is a secret. It’s all out in the open, no conspiracy theory required.
