Conservatives have this weird superpower: they get to define the terms of the debate and decide who holds what positions. Liberal judgements are judicial activism, which is necessarily bad. Conservatives, however, (1) define original intent any way they please, (2) have a spiritual connection to the Framers and know they would agree on said definition, and (3) original intent is inherently good, even though the document is terribly flawed and in need of an overhaul.

And then, for no reason I can figure out, everyone just accepts that as the groundrules for the debate. It’s so effing weird.
