Despite all the talk of the "swing voter," I'm more convinced by the pollsters and analysts who say that there is no such thing. There are very few independents, just people who like to apply the word to themselves. Instead, there are swing districts that change party based on turnout rather than people changing their minds.

The upshot is that changing minds is very rare. Anyone who can truly buy in to the Tr*mpist logic and Republican agenda is lost. There's so much data available, pretty much the only way to be ignorant at this point is willfully so. I do argue occasionally, but mostly to provide grist for future stories. I've trapped too many people in logical corners only to watch them BS their way out as if reality was merely a suggestion.
