I am duty bound to make my standard complaint on this topic:

Everybody talks about identity politics as a Democratic/liberal issue. America's primary identity politics problems lie on the right with White and particularly Christian identity. The GOP is 75% White Christians and everything they do is entangled with religion. But these demographics are somehow invisible.

People claim that liberals divide the world into race and religion, but the right does so even more. The differences are that (a) the left is at least trying to help the less privileged rather than solely their own narrow interests, (b) the right gets a free pass.

I would like to propose a media regulation that this explanation be provided before and after any use of the phrase "identity politics".
