I did think over that word choice. I made it to be somewhat provocative and because the Manosphere would.

However, we may have an issue with definitions. I believe a woman is not only free to take financial security into account, she probably should. Pregnancy and childcare will cut into her earning potential, possibly a lot. That's assuming he doesn't turn into a financial liability, which is also possible.

My definition of golddigger doesn't include women seeking security or even trying to get rich by way of snagging a wealthy man. As you say, these are all understandable behaviors.

I'm talking about a woman who treats a man's wallet the way a Lothario treats a woman's body: she takes her pleasure of it until it's used up, then dumps him and moves on to the next. It's not trading her body for security, it's using her body as weapon, a funnel to siphon his bank account.

It's possible that doesn't fit the definition in popular culture, in which case I should stop using it.
