I don't think it can be a straw man if they're quotes backed up by multiple sources. But life's unpredictable.
So fine, pick one of the article's topics (or another of your choosing) and explain it rationally. Is there an argument for TFG? Does the right have a compromise position on abortion? Why is the GOP so tangled up in Russia and openly embracing authoritarians? What's the argument for what at least appears to be voter suppression, particularly when few of the efforts to find it pay off? What does "open borders" mean? What's the definition of "Communist" that applies to Democrats? What's the scientific basis for ignoring climate change? Why are civil rights for LGBT people a bad idea? Why do Republicans run on fiscal responsibility but leave the budget a smoking crater when they leave the White House?
Seriously, get me solid, supportable answers to some interesting questions and I promise to publish a piece about it. I'll even run it by you first to make sure it's fair.
P.S. One rule: I'm leery of religious-based explanations. I don't think it makes sense accept "I don't know, the Lord works in mysterious ways" or some other objectively unprovable explanation - unless you can explain why it does makes sense.
