I'm not sure about the source of the outrage. I'm saying that (1) money has too much influence over politics, and (2) that we should know where (and from whom) politicians get their money, especially if they're writing the laws to favor those people/institutions. I don’t view those as controversial, though I know the right disagrees.
Voter suppression is not a made-up thing. We have gerrymandering from both parties. We had a GOP redistricting in North Carolina that was thrown out as disfavoring African-American voters "with almost surgical precision." Florida passed a voter initiative to restore the rights of ex-cons, the Republicans are trying to negate it. Voters in Republican areas have shorter lines at the polls. Voter ID laws are set up to favor the types of ID Republicans tend to have. In some states the GOP is trying to limit early voting on the Sundays Black churches have traditionally used to vote. They're trying to pass laws allowing poll watchers, knowing that it will primarily be Republicans coming to intimidate minority voters. Some states are trying to eliminate certain parts of the voting process that seem to favor Democrats (such as restricting drop boxes in "blue" cities.) It's not just some made-up thing.
I don’t think Putin’s interest in Ukraine is fake. He’s already annexed part of the country and tried to take more after his puppet government was run out of town. He may or may not formally invade, but that’s definitely on the table.
Nobody thinks the “buffalo guy” was a threat to the government. But the people he came with definitely intended to be. Militia groups and others are actively looking for ways to take down the government if Democrats win.
You’re right, conservatives don’t give a damn about fiscal responsibility, except as a way to weaponize debt to hamstring the government.
The Afghanistan thing was a debacle from word go. Both parties were complicit there, though to be fair what opposition there was came from the left.
I don’t know what else to say. I don’t lie (though I’m not always right…) and am a logician by nature and training. I’m only interested in rational thinking and drawing conclusions from real-world data. If you prefer conspiracy theories or to be a captive of some ideology, then I ain’t interested.
