In one of life's weird quirks, I have actually taught voting theory a couple of times during my college instructor phase. I think ranked choice voting is excellent because you can vote your heart but still get your voice heard. My cousin lives in Australia and that's their system. (They are also legally obligated to vote, which is interesting.) We might not get viable 3rd/4th/5th parties, but at least we'd know how many people would like those things.
