In other words, the believer believes because they want to. It’s all a closed loop.
So many things had to be right for us to be here.
With all due respect: this is bunk, scientifically speaking. It would only be relevant if we were traveling the galaxy looking for a new homeworld. If there is no god, everything would still be exactly right for us here because this is where we evolved. We are the way we are because it’s what works for this environment. If the environment were different, we’d be different. Plants and animals are still evolving right in front of us, as are we. It’s just v…e…r…y slow, and you only notice if you’re patient.
Imagine how today’s world would change if everyone lived out this message love and forgiveness. No more war! No more murder! No more oppression!
I don’t even know what to make of this. Religion is and has always been the #1 driver of hate, war, and oppression. Nothing else is even close.
Don’t you see that? No one with even a passing knowledge of history could miss it.
It is the alpha and omega of identity politics — not only is everyone sorted into “us” vs. “them,” the people in the other box are going to hell to burn forever. Why? Not because of what they’ve done. They can have lived exemplary lives but be damned because they refused to toe the line. Doesn’t an inhuman monster who converts on his deathbed have a better chance at heaven than the kindest and most forgiving person outside the faith?
A world without religion would stand a better chance of health and happiness than the opposite. Religion and unity cannot coexist unless only one faith exists. The only hope for peace, love, and understanding is if everyone not of the faith is converted, or — as has so often been the case in history — eradicated.
We all have different ideas of love and forgiveness. I view Christians with horror. What I see called Christian love is something I want no part of.
I could never be a good Christian. I don’t have it in me to only love those like me.
