In your haste to disagree, I think you’ve misunderstood. (1) Some Americans don’t have ID, and those people tend to be POC.(2) Some Republican controlled states are making it harder to get an ID, while at the same time tightening voter rules. Them’s the facts.

It would be paternalistic to blame the victims for their own plight, it’s not so to point out the behavior of the victimizers. People aren’t supposed to have to fight to vote, the rules should be fair and they aren’t.

As for trying to make it easier, I don’t live in a red state, voting here is already easy. All I can do is vote for non-racist candidates in my home state to make federal regulations, and hopefully encourage people in other states to realize that these “common sense” regulations aren’t as simple as they seem.
