It's more complicated than you're making it out to be.

1) Maybe it's deserved. Too many men are assholes around women. Just because large numbers of people are angry about something doesn't make them right, but you at least have to consider whether it's justified.

2) In general, physical abuse isn't a viable option for women. They're limited in the ways they can come back at an abusive spouse.

3) You're partly right. Males do seem like fair game, relatively speaking. But that's a function of punching up vs. punching down - men hold the power, so the people below are going to take shots. If the powerful respond in kind, it comes off as bullying. With power comes responsibility, so we must resist the urge to whine. It's the cost of ruling the roost. Or, give up being in charge.
