It's why I left that part open, I don't feel qualified to make those kinds of decisions. I just needed to talk through the process of understanding and an application of logic to an emotional issue.
I'm also trying to do my little bit to change the debate. The usual question is "should we have reparations or not?" and that ought to be dispensed with. Instead, I agree with you: "we should have them, how should they be implemented?"
I'm tired of American civic discourse. Too many inane questions and fruitless arguments about whether things exist that obviously do (racism, climate change, etc.), and about whether something should be done when the question ought to be how (reparations, police reform, etc.)
