I've only every been blocked/unfriended/etc. by conservatives. They're like screaming toddlers, all id, no coherent thought. Weird as hell to deal with. Logic seem to freak them the hell out.

That last bit might be the answer to your problem. The right is like dealing with religious fundamentalists - when your ideology is a rationality-free zone in which you believe to your core the bullshit is real, it gives that bullshit resilience.
