I've written a bit on this, most recently The Internet Will Keep Eating Our Brains Until We Stop Confusing It With Real Life.

Not non-existent, the numbers are clear that there are issues. But the internet rewards unrepresentative voices, so any little fringe movement that goes viral will look enormous. Then the "Manosphere" jumps in to stir the pot, and everybody ends up yelling at each other. That is, another day ending in "y."

There are a lot of weddings, but not as many as history would lead us to expect. But it's true single people are moving away from each other in general.

Unfortunately, this will be most pronounced among the educated and professional classes. The future is what it is, more education is required, not less. But the growth will be concentrated among those least able to cope with the age of technology.
