OK, I'm glad to hear why the S keeps popping up. I was worried it was one of those trying-to-be-clever-but-actually-moronic things that flood the internet.

Lord, I am sick of nitwits who think they are soooo smart but are actually entirely vacuous.

If you'd like to list the rights and privileges, please do. I'm curious. HOWEVER: in context, please! And in a way that explains how they affect this particular discussion.

Without context, "facts" are just a pile of data points without value. Forgetting that is another failing of the Internets.

Keep the point of this article in mind; it may not be what you think. The thrust of it is to highlight the historical inequality of marriage and how human relationships have evolved.

In every species, females have criteria for selecting a mate. It's different for every individual — and it doesn't matter what they are. That's where a list of facts might fall flat. Every female is different, and each has her own set of wants and needs. In order to form a partnership with her, a male must satisfy those wants and needs. (And the reverse, as well! He should have his criteria, too.) If either party can't or won't, it's time to move on to someone else.

In the end, the point of the article is in the last few lines:

"Everything is a compromise. Are you a compromise worth making?

"Even if you're a great guy with a long list of positive attributes, do you have the ones she wants? Because all the looks, money, and emotional intelligence in the world mean nothing if she's happier without you."
