Seems logical to you, seems logical to me...but it's religion, where the rules of logic do not apply.

Personally, I'd like to get government out of the marriage business entirely. I'm tired of people flogging the "sanctity of marriage" thing - since when should government be sanctifying anything? Sign a piece of paper that entitles you to all the advantages of marriage, then go out and throw whatever party you like in whatever church will have you.

But until then, let's be pro-family (he said with a wink to pious, dishonest right-wingers) and encourage same sex couples to tie the knot if they want to.

People are people. Let's treat everybody humanely.
