Thanks. I figure my lane is a straight white son of the suburbs talking to my fellow demographic. Obviously I can’t speak for or at anybody else, but I feel obliged to call us out sometimes. Seeing through privilege is hard but has to be a priority.
My mother was a university professor and not the domestic type, so I didn’t have any notion women should be “traditional” wives. Lord knows she never was. Growing up to discover how men talked about and behaved toward women was horrifying. I guess I hoped we might grow out of it, and some progress has been made, but this recent regression has pissed me the f*ck off.
