That's where men need to make the transition.

Things change, the world evolves, and we have to evolve with it. Being a toxic alpha male was the most successful mating strategy for the first few hundred thousand years of human existence. In modern times, just having a Y chromosome was enough to have an advantage.

But things change. As far as I can tell, men need to stop butting heads for domination of the herd and evolve into one of those species where the male must prove his value and cater to female preference.

If she wants a partner, we have to be that. It's not easy, but why should she stick around if you don't meet her needs?

Of course, some women actively want a patriarch. But if that's what she wants, as I saw mentioned recently, then that's what you have to give her. Lead. Provide. Protect. Turn off the video games, stop whining, and be a goddamn patriarch.

But be careful what you ask for. It's a hard job.

As far as I can tell, men want the advantages without earning them. Sorry, boys, that Y chromosome isn't always enough by itself anymore.

Also, I have to report to the young guys it keeps changing for the duration. The work doesn't stop. I'm turning 60 and spent more than half my life with the same woman, and it's still an evolving situation.

The only thing harder than finding someone to love is keeping them...

It's a crazy world right now. Old rules are being overturned, and the people who've benefitted aren't taking it very well.
