The problem with men is pretty straightforward — they don’t want to move forward in a way that will diminish their privilege. It’s not suck it up and try harder, it’s suck it up and admit they have to share the power.

Conservatives aren’t shy about what they’re up to. Running the country doen and convincing people things are getting worse has been a political strategy for a long time.

To be clear — and this take is more controversial in some quarters — it’s time to take some of the attention being given to girls and use it to help boys. Men still hold the power in the moment, but women are on a better trajectory for the future. Rather like a pandemic, it’s better to react before something becomes a crisis.
