You've shot past the point: don't you realize that liberals ARE curating speech according to values? They just aren't the values you're familiar with.

Conservatives are very tolerant of speech that is misogynistic, homophobic, etc. but they get very, very unhappy if you criticize them, their religion, etc. I've always said there's no snowflake like a conservative snowflake.

Hence the social media fights over "cancel culture": one side is "our traditional values rule, keep this new stuff to yourself"; the other is "your traditional values are cruel to some people who don't deserve it, so we're going strike back with the weapons you use against us."

Though to be honest I find some of the "woke" agenda - whatever the hell that means anymore – anywhere from annoying to ridiculous, at least they're trying to stand up for the underdogs instead of protecting the privileges of the powerful. I think that earns extra credit.

I would also say that standing up for the weakest among us rather than kicking them when they're down seems much more Christlike - at least in the sense religion tries to sell us when it's convenient – than the traditionalist position, but what do I know?
